Don’t Change YOU to please THEM

As an artist, professional or just a person it seems as though we’re all in a constant struggle. The battle to decide how much of you, the real undiluted you should you present in any given situation. In the corporate world we “wear the clothes to fit the job we want” and in life we “adapt to our surroundings”. The problem is… how much can you change before you lose yourself? Does Superman pretend to be Clark or does Clark pretend to be Super? A lot of artist get caught up in the trending fad or gain so much notoriety for a gimmick that it becomes their whole persona. What do ya’ll think? have you ever had to check yourself because you saw yourself becoming someone, or something that you’re not… or simply dont want to be?

its all about evolution. if people was still rappin like cool moe dee and cutis blow, ythey would probably not want to hear someone like kanye west or pharell. Music changes with time just as the musicians should

Sorry lol that’s the age old question..its true the corporate change people to dress for what they think the world likes to see..but at the end of the day if you are a great artist you don’t need them. Like wutang they said yes we’ll use your company but we will be US because they knew they are a great group..

I don’t think any1 should change themselves to fit a job or fit other people etc… if you have to change yourself then obviously it was not meant for you. no 1 is going to be happy having to play pretend everyday.

Unfortunately, everyone has to do this at some point in their lives. If not they end up being the outkast, delinquent, etc depending on the situation. If the person isn’t strong enough they end up getting sucked into a fake identity and completely lose themselves. What I do is play my role but I never forget who I am or what I’m about.

I think it has to be balanced. The real always outweighs the fake. And it’s easier to tell the difference.

  • Jacquie says:

I think that’s mostly right, just do you. What other answer is there? Nothing’s concrete.

Yeah, we’ve all been in a place where it’s easier to adopt what everyone else thinks is best. Sometimes it’s necessary, sometimes it’s just selling your soul.

But people will always know what’s genuine and what’s not, and they appreciate the former more than the latter. But that’s my opinion.

  • NovyNova says:

There’s no right answer, but i guess just do you and let the haters do them
