Higher Quality Music

There’s a big push going on right now to get higher quality audio into the ears of the listeners. It’s more than just the Beats by Dre headphone phenomenon, companies like apple, and record labels like interscope are trying to get 24 bit audio to be the new standard (currently 16 bit audio). For the user, in theory this will allow for a higher dynamic range… Think more room for sounds so less muddy music! Sounds great right? Sure… Except most of the devices you use can’t even play a 24 bit audio file. Your iPods, mp3 players, cell phones are all incompatible… That covers about 90% of the way people hear their music. Not to mention most people LOVE their stock iPod headphones. Those headphones are certified garbage and you wouldn’t hear a difference anyway. Sooo we have a lot of audio enthusiasts and music producers who follow the blog… What’s your opinion? 24 bit worth more or not?
Peace,
