More Work
Been a long time since we took the time to reach out to the fans. So… here goes. lets start the proper way, by saying thank you to everyone who has continued to show support to the knights from our inception till now. we definitely appreciate all the love and will continue to do it for ya’ll. the team has been really busy getting as many songs done as we can to prepare for that UNC MIKE album, “In Unc Mike We Trust” which will be available soon on itunes. We’ve started editing the first music video, and begin shooting the next one in about a week. So basically we’ve gotten back to work, and plan on doing MORE WORK. Sorry if we left you wanting for more, but we will make it up to you

Back to work
Okay, so its been a pretty long hiatus since the KOTR have been on the grind. Between group conflicts and setting up the new studio time has just flown by. Well, we have been back at work trying to make it up to ya’ll… The new studio is (FINALLY) set up. the new music sounds the way we want it to, and we even have the music video shoot this weekend. yup, its coming… and soon. Keep an eye out for the Throbak mixtape dropping on 4/20.
Peace,
The KoTR
Don’t Change YOU to please THEM
As an artist, professional or just a person it seems as though we’re all in a constant struggle. The battle to decide how much of you, the real undiluted you should you present in any given situation. In the corporate world we “wear the clothes to fit the job we want” and in life we “adapt to our surroundings”. The problem is… how much can you change before you lose yourself? Does Superman pretend to be Clark or does Clark pretend to be Super? A lot of artist get caught up in the trending fad or gain so much notoriety for a gimmick that it becomes their whole persona. What do ya’ll think? have you ever had to check yourself because you saw yourself becoming someone, or something that you’re not… or simply dont want to be?

Resolutions 2011
The new year is rapidly approaching and its time to start making our resolutions… here at the camp we have a lot of things we will be trying to do differently in the new year. Release the next mixtape, the solo’s, finally shoot the next music video… basically it’s going to be a busy year. what do ya’ll have on your list of resolutions?
Peace,
Nov

How it happened: The Product
whaddup y’all
Here’s another look into how the KOTR comes up with those hot records. Today’s edition is none other than the fan favorite “The Product” produced by Unc Mike. The craziest part of that classic record has to be the fact that the day we came up with, wrote AND recorded the record was the first day we met Unc Mike. Unc was a long time friend of mullaney so it was only natural that at some point those ingredients would get mixed up to see if we could cook up a hit. Unc bought a beat CD that had like 10 beats on it (for y’all, last song, the product, hand on the bible…) and as soon as we heard it we knew we had to get to work. In typical chief fashion before the rest of us scribbled down any rhymes he called his dibs on the hook. About an hour later we had completed the record that later became known as “the product”. The number one question we get asked about that record is: why’s it called the product? We don’t mention those words anywhere in the song… Well, it’s called that because it was the product of everything coming together perfectly. The right instrumental, the right chorus, rhymes that resonated with the listener. It was the product of Us. Keep In mind that before that day, there was no group or label called the KOTR…

World- Wide- What…?
* This is dedicated to the critics who [honestly] give it to us straight when we can’t trust our own judgement.
Life doesn’t really care if you’re a songwriter[rapper] who has to ask ”Alright tell me honestly, what do you think?”; after playing a new song or if you’re a cook asking “So, how was dinner?”; after the meal is done: a majority of us can relate to needing an outside opinion.
Or is it merely outside interest we seek? Some of us just need the attention. Still whether it’s some of us all of the time or all of us some of the time, the whole point is to get some one else to ask “what”, but for what?
While the internet has become a hunting ground for those who prey on our vices and abuse the gift of this world wide connection, we give out music at the click of a button with out the mock job applications you’re used to and show our appreciation of the gift of this world wide connection. Music, good music: is our answer to the world wide what.
What’s yours?*
*Sorry, I’m a rapper: I speak better than I write.
